Ella Curry *Outlook 2010: I would love to see more books come out about “humanity” and less about the romantic relationships–I want a sense of life to burst from the book; I would like to read more books with objects, culture, exotic cities and periods of time as characters too. Most of all I would love to embrace books to will …challenge the reader’s imagination or their thought processes.
Stanice Anderson: Amen! I feel you, Ella. Gurrl, just wait a minute or two, new books coming out include 1 from Sharon Ewell Foster that I simply can not wait to read. I’m not sure she wants anyone to know the topic yet; so I won’t be the one to reveal it. You know she was the first African American to win the coveted Christy Award. Her writing style is mesmorizing–the language–the imagery. Read her “Abraham’s Well” yet? Also, Feb 2, 2010, Marilynn Griffith has compiled, SistahFaith: True Stories of Hope & Healing published by Howard/Simon&Shuster. go to http://sistahfaith.ning.com I have a couple of stories in it along with Sharon Ewell Foster, Claudia Mair Burney, Marilynn Griffith, and others.
Claudia Mair Burney; also known for her vastly popular blog, RagaMuffin Diva, whose books are beautifully written, Zorah and Nicky, Wounded, ExorSistah who wears kick-demon boots! Actually, the protagonist feels like this: “She just wants a home, a hootie, and some kickin’ boots. Does she realy have to fight the devil to get them?”
Then there is my next nonfiction book (Jan 2010) Walkin’ On Water When the Ground Ain’t Enuf: Getting Through Tough Times with Amazing Faith. Go to http://TryWalkingOnWater.com So we writing all kinds of good stuff.
Thank you for your great contribution in the world of books. You and your audience help keep books alive!

Who I Am
I'm an author, inspirational speaker, vocalist, and performance artist. I was a heroin addict saved from myself and the lifestyle (with all the pain that comes with it) but the mercy and grace of God. Thus, I am a late bloomer; but blooming none-the-less. I've yielded every talent given me, and am now using them to encourage, inspire, and motivate others to discover and lives God's marvelous plans for their lives. My books include my latest, Walking On Water When The Ground Ain't Enuf; I Say A Prayer For Me: One Woman's Life of Faith and Triumph (Warner); 12-Step Programs: A Resource Guide For Helping Professionals; and Contributing Author of SistahFaith: Real Stories of Pain, Truth and Triumph compiled by Marilynn Griffith (Howard/Simon&Schuster). I also perform a one-woman show with comedy infused throughout. It's who I am--by God's grace--one woman on a journey toward unwavering faith.

The masks must go. First, we have to get in touch with our truth which lies closer to the the surface than you may think, beneath the mask. For me, it started with asking God and meaning it, "Show me, Lord." A lot of times it was another person, even sometime unbeknownst to them that they...
