SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — Nov. 13, 2009: Every deterrent is being blown away by the wind of My Spirit. And, in this new season you will begin to see and experience My presence in a more powerful way. As you allow distractions to be swept away and your focus on Me to be uninterrupted, you will enter this time of spiritual vitality and growth. There is an air of expectancy in the realm of the spirit. Go forth with a sense of purpose and boldness, says the Lord.
Psalms 138:3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.

I am process of readying manuscript for my next book which is Walkin’ On Water When The Ground Ain’t Enuf: Getting Through Times with Amazing Faith. My son and I publishing through my company, Shout Glory. Tired waiting on publishers to deem my work worthy of publishing. 7 years and 6 book proposals & sample chapters later; this new book one will start my new life as a publisher. Afterall, God impresses upon my heart that it’s worthy- and I am in total agreement–especially in times like these. Me and millons of others like me, are holding on; trying to make our way, trusting God, and refusing to give up. We need to get through and it will take amazing faith–a walking-on-water faith to reach the other side. My prayer is that my new book will be part of the solution and crush the problem. So I’m calling all Water-Walkers and Water-Walker Wannabes, let’s do this thing! You feel me?

- BJ & Stanice
BJ was one of the first women to really embrace the soul of me. Didn’t put me down but was gentle and kind. The Black women were hard, edgy, and clickish. Ironic that BJ, a White woman, would be the first woman, I trusted in the program. Made me believe that I would get better took the time to take me places, including one time the grocery store almost against my will. She said what are you gonna do instead of going with me. It was my birthday. I said well… for real i don’t know but I’ll be alright. “What makes you think you’ll be alright? What do you normally do on your birthday?” An honest answer came out before I could think of a lie, “Get high and have sex. In that order.” Eye to eye, I surrendered. “Okay the grocery store it is.”
Who I Am
I'm an author, inspirational speaker, vocalist, and performance artist. I was a heroin addict saved from myself and the lifestyle (with all the pain that comes with it) but the mercy and grace of God. Thus, I am a late bloomer; but blooming none-the-less. I've yielded every talent given me, and am now using them to encourage, inspire, and motivate others to discover and lives God's marvelous plans for their lives. My books include my latest, Walking On Water When The Ground Ain't Enuf; I Say A Prayer For Me: One Woman's Life of Faith and Triumph (Warner); 12-Step Programs: A Resource Guide For Helping Professionals; and Contributing Author of SistahFaith: Real Stories of Pain, Truth and Triumph compiled by Marilynn Griffith (Howard/Simon&Schuster). I also perform a one-woman show with comedy infused throughout. It's who I am--by God's grace--one woman on a journey toward unwavering faith.
