The masks must go. First, we have to get in touch with our truth which lies closer to the the surface than you may think, beneath the mask. For me, it started with asking God and meaning it, “Show me, Lord.” A lot of times it was another person, even sometime unbeknownst to them that they were being used by God–that God used to put that truth so in my face that all I can humbly mutter to myself, “God, you must be in this somewhere, answering my prayer.” Somewhere between the Dear God and the Amen, the Holy Spirit kicked into His Helper stance and empowered me to do the big girl stuff, which was to allow the wound to be totally uncovered acting on my belief that since -Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted–who at any given moment is me–then all will be well.

I deep fried fresh rainbow trout fillets, french fries using gold potatos and cooked a mess of collard greens for my son and his 3 children. After he picked them up from school; we relaxed, talked, played, prayed, and ate together. What a treat after disappointing behavior from my former employer earlier in the day.
As I looked around the table, I got lost in the love. All my troubles drained away. Nothing else mattered. As I laid down to go to sleep, I smiled and thanked God for life in The WOW Zone™.

This came to mind as I chatted it up with my precious Canadian friend today. I dedicate this to all of us who have days when we don’t know what to do:
As children bring their broken toys,
with tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
because He is my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help,
with ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back again

Who I Am
I'm an author, inspirational speaker, vocalist, and performance artist. I was a heroin addict saved from myself and the lifestyle (with all the pain that comes with it) but the mercy and grace of God. Thus, I am a late bloomer; but blooming none-the-less.
